Manchester United manager Carrick speaks out after fourth league defeat

Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has spoken out about his future following the club’s 2-0 defeat to Chelsea in the Premier League on Saturday.

Speaking to TNT Sports after the match, Carrick said he was not expecting to be sacked and was confident he would remain in charge when the Red Devils host Roma in the Champions League on Tuesday.

Morgan Rogers and Cole Palmer scored in the second half to hand United their fourth league defeat of the season.

The result leaves Carrick’s side in 17th place on the Premier League table, just one point above the relegation zone.

When asked whether he expected to be in charge for the next fixture against Roma, the 45-year-old simply replied: “Yes.”
