Former West Point cadet accused of drvgging pregnant girlfriend with sedative-laced smoothie, forcing ab0rtion

A former West Point cadet, Caleb T. Suh, has been accused of secretly drugging his pregnant girlfriend with a sedative-laced smoothie and forcing abortion pills into her vagina and mouth, resulting in the loss of her pregnancy.

According to a new lawsuit, Suh, the son of US Department of Veterans Affairs Chief of Staff Dr Ryung Suh, allegedly carried out the act against his then-girlfriend, who was also a cadet, in 2022.

Suh reportedly admitted in a federal court guilty plea that he tricked the woman into drinking what he described as a “special pregnancy protein powder” shake. The mixture allegedly contained Xanax and Promethazine.

The lawsuit stated that the woman became drowsy and incapacitated after consuming the drink, allowing Suh to administer abortion pills against her wishes.

She reportedly regained consciousness and discovered that she was bleeding heavily before seeking emergency medical attention. Doctors subsequently confirmed a miscarriage and performed a procedure to remove the remains of the fetus.

The lawsuit further alleged that Suh obtained the abortion pills by stealing his girlfriend's identity and creating a fake account with an online pharmacy. He also reportedly obtained Xanax through a friend to sedate her.

Following the incident, Suh completed his undergraduate studies in emergency medicine at Cornell University, graduating in 2024, before enrolling in Columbia University's master's programme in public health.

He was charged in federal court and pleaded guilty to felony assault in June. He is currently awaiting sentencing after securing a postponement until January to complete his academic semester.

Prosecutors are reportedly seeking a two-year prison sentence.
