Speaking about her failed marriage, the actress disclosed that she contributed more financially to the relationship, a situation she said made her former husband feel disrespected.
Jegede explained that despite her ex-husband being eight years older than her, he often interpreted some of her casual remarks as disrespect after they got married.
She recalled that their relationship dynamics changed after marriage, leaving her wondering whether he was the same person she had known for years.
The actress, however, clarified that the issue of money and perceived disrespect was not the major reason their marriage ended.
Reflecting on her experience, she said she has been solely responsible for taking care of her son since the marriage ended, describing the responsibility as difficult.
“I was bringing in more of the money in the marriage, and my ex-husband always felt disrespected, although he is eight years older than me.
“But the moment we got married, if I told him, ‘You dey craze,’ he would say I was disrespecting him, and then I would start wondering if it was the same person I got married to.
“I regret choosing love over money,” she said.
The actress added that her experience had made her reconsider the importance of financial stability when choosing a life partner.
