A woman has come under heavy criticism on social media after declaring that any man above the age of 35 who does not own a house is "useless."
In a video that has gone viral, she argued that men should have achieved homeownership by that age, questioning what they had been doing with their lives if they had not.
"Any man above 35 years old that does not have a house is a useless man. Yes, what have you been doing all your life? Hustling, making money, trying to build your life. What life? At what age? 35? Do you want to build a house when you get old? Broke ass," she said.
Her remarks quickly ignited debate online, with many describing the statement as unfair and disrespectful, while others maintained that financial stability should be an important goal.
Reacting to the video, a user identified as Voice urged parents to instill better values in their daughters.
"Dear parents, please train your daughters properly so they don't video themselves calling men 'useless' while the only property they currently control is the phone in their hands and bad attitudes. House ownership is not the only measure of a man's worth. Does her father even own a house?"
Another user, Animekage, argued that renting does not necessarily indicate financial failure.
"Funny how I know men with millions in business and same ones making over $20,000 monthly online, and they are living in rentals."
Commenting on what he described as a double standard, OLIVE wrote:
"Man and woman are born the same way but a man without a house at a certain age is useless, while a woman at that same age without a house is still a baby girl who deserves a king."
Another user, Big Deen, added:
"The funny thing is, the only accomplishments this kind of babes have are usually just their wigs and iPhones."
Chijioke also weighed in, questioning whether the woman's own family members owned homes.
The viral video continues to generate mixed reactions, with many Nigerians debating whether owning a house should be used as a measure of a person's value or success.
