Former Minister of Science and Technology, Mr Uche Nnaji, has reportedly been arrested at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu, while preparing to board a chartered flight to Abuja.
The former minister was taken into custody on Wednesday at the airport, according to reports.
Sources cited by Premium Times disclosed that Nnaji is expected to be handed over to the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) for questioning.
The arrest reportedly comes after the anti-graft agency began investigating the former minister following allegations surrounding the authenticity of his academic certificates.
Nnaji resigned from office last year after investigations reportedly revealed claims that he forged his academic documents.
The ICPC has since been following up on the matter, with the latest development involving his reported arrest at the airport.
