Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar has opened up about her decision to leave Islam and embrace Christianity, saying it followed what she described as a miraculous healing from a mysterious illness that left her bedridden for nearly nine years.
According to her, surviving the ordeal convinced her that God had given her a second chance, inspiring her to dedicate her life to serving Jesus Christ.
Halima explained that her recovery was not only physical but also spiritual, adding that it marked the beginning of a new chapter centered on faith, healing, and restoration.
"I'm a brand new person now. I have given my life to Christ. I want to serve God because He has helped me. I almost died. They almost killed me. This is not about movies; this is about restoration and testimony. Halima Abubakar is back, big and better," she said.
The actress added that she now feels called to spread the Christian faith after what she believes was God's intervention in her life.
"Right now, I'm ready to serve God because He wants me to. He has delivered me, so I need to serve Him and preach His gospel to the people," she added.
Halima also disclosed that she would soon publicly share a detailed testimony of how, according to her, God used Queen Belemzy Ministries (School of Power) to restore her health after years of battling the illness.
Her announcement has since generated reactions on social media, with many fans and colleagues congratulating her on what they described as a fresh start and wishing her well on her spiritual journey.
The actress said she is leaving behind years of pain, uncertainty, and hardship as she embraces a new life devoted to faith and gratitude.
