Former Big Brother Naija winner Mercy Eke has stirred reactions after declaring that men who expect freshly cooked meals every day should hire a chef instead of expecting their partners to cook daily.
According to Mercy, she would never date or marry a man who expects her to prepare fresh meals daily because that is simply not the kind of relationship she wants.
“I can’t marry or date a man who wants me to cook for him regularly. I only cook once in a while when I am in the mood. If you want fresh food every day, hire a chef.”
She added that love is not enough to make her change her stance, noting that there are women who enjoy cooking every day, but she isn't one of them.
“It can’t be me. Love can never make me cook for a man every day. I’m not the woman for that kind of man. There are other women out there who will gladly do that, which is fine.”
Mercy also stressed the importance of choosing a partner whose expectations align with yours.
“That is why it’s important to marry who has what you are looking for.
“So, if you marry me and you are thinking you don’t eat overnight food, it’s not me. I can’t cook every day.”
