Manchester United agree £50m deal to sign Chelsea midfielder Andrey Santos

Manchester United have reportedly reached an agreement with Chelsea to sign Brazilian midfielder Andrey Santos in a deal worth up to £50 million, according to multiple British media outlets.

Sky Sports reported that United have agreed a £50 million deal for the 22-year-old, with only the remaining formalities left before the transfer is completed.

The Athletic, via TNT Sports, claimed the agreement is worth £48 million upfront plus £2 million in add-ons, adding that personal terms have already been agreed and Santos has been granted permission to undergo a medical.

The Guardian also reported that United have completed a deal worth £48 million, while The Times stated that Chelsea negotiated a 10 per cent sell-on clause as part of the transfer. TalkSPORT added that Santos is expected to sign a five-year contract at Old Trafford.

As of the time of publication, neither Manchester United nor Chelsea has officially confirmed the transfer.

Santos joined Chelsea from Brazilian club Vasco da Gama in 2023 and had loan spells at Nottingham Forest and Strasbourg before establishing himself in the Chelsea first team.

Although he was not a regular starter ahead of Moisés Caicedo and Enzo Fernández, Santos made 43 appearances across all competitions last season, scoring three goals.

If completed, the move would strengthen Manchester United's midfield ahead of the new campaign.
