The trial of social media influencer and relationship therapist Okoro Blessing Nkiruka, popularly known as Blessing CEO, was on Wednesday adjourned after she failed to appear in court due to a reported illness while in the custody of the Nigerian Correctional Service.
When the case was called, her lawyer, P.I. Nwafuru, informed the court that correctional officials had told him his client was unwell and could not be brought to court for the hearing.
The defence counsel asked for an adjournment, promising to present a medical report explaining her condition at the next sitting.
Justice D.I. Dipeolu granted the application and adjourned the matter until Monday, July 20, 2026, for the continuation of trial.
According to the charge, Blessing CEO allegedly obtained N36 million from Mrs. Ifeyinwa Nonye Okoye between July 14 and 17, 2024, after allegedly claiming she could lease a six-bedroom detached duplex located at No. 1B, Tunbosun Osobu Street, off Kuboye Road, Lekki, Lagos.
The EFCC alleged that the claim was false and accused the influencer of violating the Advance Fee Fraud and Other Fraud Related Offences Act, 2006.
