Nollywood actress and influencer Priscilla Ojo has explained why she believes her marriage is different from the typical African marriage, saying she and her husband have built their relationship on equality, friendship and mutual support instead of traditional gender roles.
“My marriage is not the typical African marriage whereby a wife or husband is compelled to play a specific role.
“My husband does whatever he likes and I also do whatever I like. Nobody depends on each other because we're both working partners,” she said.
Priscilla also revealed that she and her husband are very similar in the way they think and approach life, describing their relationship as one built on genuine friendship.
According to her, they are more like best friends, and that deep connection has made their marriage even stronger.
She added that although her husband is capable of providing for the family, she enjoys working and contributing in her own little way because it gives her a sense of fulfilment and allows her to support their home.
Priscilla said their shared values, mutual respect and willingness to support one another are some of the key reasons their marriage continues to thrive.
