SABC reporter r0bbed at gunpoint moments before going live on TV

A South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC) journalist and his news crew were robbed at gunpoint in a brazen attack captured on camera just moments before they were due to go live on television.

The incident involved veteran SABC reporter Vuyo Mvoko, who was outside Milpark Hospital in Johannesburg preparing to report on the arrival of then-Zambian President Edgar Lungu for medical treatment.

As the camera continued recording, armed men calmly walked into the frame before confronting the crew and demanding their mobile phones, laptops, valuables and broadcasting equipment.

Mvoko later revealed that their phones and laptop were among the items stolen during the robbery.

According to the journalist, one of the attackers pointed a gun at him while ordering the crew to hand over their belongings. Fellow SABC journalists Chriselda Lewis and Sophie Mokoena, who were also at the scene, were reportedly threatened during the incident.

After the robbers fled, Mvoko informed the newsroom that they had just been attacked.

The camera continued recording throughout the ordeal, capturing clear images of the suspects' faces, which are expected to assist investigators in identifying and tracking down those responsible for the attack.
