FAAN bows to pressure, clears Bolt to resume airport operations

The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has resolved its operational issues with e-hailing company Bolt, allowing the platform to immediately resume services at airports managed by the authority.

FAAN had earlier banned Uber and Bolt from operating at its airports before introducing its own ride-hailing service, FAANTaxi. However, the move attracted criticism from airport users, particularly over the cost of transportation.

For instance, a trip from Ikeja Airport to the Radisson was reportedly pegged at ₦30,000 under the FAANTaxi service, leaving many passengers dissatisfied.

With the latest resolution, passengers can once again request Bolt rides at FAAN-operated airports, ending the disruption that had prevented the e-hailing platform from serving travellers at the facilities.
