‘I’ve never slept with another woman since I married my wife’ – Aregbesola

‘I’ve never slept with another woman since I married my wife’ – Aregbesola

National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Rauf Aregbesola, has declared that he has remained faithful to his wife, Sherifat, throughout their marriage.

The former Osun State governor made the statement while addressing supporters at an ADC campaign rally in Ejigbo Local Government Area of Osun State ahead of the August 15 governorship election.

Speaking in Yoruba, Aregbesola said his faithfulness was rooted in his commitment to God, insisting that he had never been intimate with another woman since marrying his wife.

He said, “Oh Lord my God, if you are the one I am serving, and I did not add any other thing to it. What I am about to say, only a few men can say it: Because of your fear, I never had any intimacy with another woman since I married my wife.”

Aregbesola said his decision to remain faithful was part of a personal commitment he made to God, adding that not many men would be able to make the same claim.

He also told the gathering, “I told God that next June, we must do it at the Government House.”

His remarks came as political parties intensified their campaigns across Osun State ahead of the governorship election scheduled for Saturday, August 15, 2026.

The election will feature incumbent Governor Ademola Adeleke of the Accord Party, who is seeking a second term, alongside the APC candidate, Bola Oyebamiji, and ADC candidate Najeem Folasayo Salaam.

The poll is expected to take place across the 30 local government areas of the state.
