Jowizaza’s father, Rev. sister regain freedom after abduction in Anambra

The Anambra State Police Command has confirmed the release and safe return of Chief J. J. Ezeokafor, father of socialite Jowizaza, and a Reverend Sister who were abducted by armed criminals in Ifite-Awka.

The businessman was kidnapped in the early hours of Tuesday, August 4, shortly after leaving his residence for a prayer ground in Awka.

In a statement, the Command’s spokesperson, SP Tochukwu Ikenga, said the police were taking necessary steps to establish the circumstances surrounding the victims’ release and gather information that could aid the ongoing investigation.

Ikenga said the information would also assist security operatives in identifying and apprehending those responsible for the abduction.

The Commissioner of Police, Anambra State Command, CP Nnanna Oji Ama, commended the safe return of the victims and directed intensified intelligence-led operations and a manhunt for the perpetrators.

The operation involves the police, Department of State Services (DSS), military, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Agunechemba Security Operatives and other relevant security agencies.

The Command assured residents that efforts were ongoing to track down those behind the abduction and bring them to justice.
