“My husband was set up” — Odogwu Asaba’s wife denies rape, death allegations involving late Favour following backlash from her previous video

The wife of embattled content creator Odogwu Asaba has insisted that her husband was set up, as she denied allegations that he raped or was responsible for the death of late Favour.

In a new video, she responded to the backlash that followed her previous statement on the controversial case, maintaining that her husband never admitted to committing any crime.

She explained that the viral footage showing Odogwu kneeling at a police station was not an admission of guilt, but an attempt to plead with Favour’s parents to settle the matter privately before it became public and damaged his reputation.

According to her, those opposed to her husband only needed the video to push their narrative because, she alleged, they had no other evidence against him.

She also maintained that her husband did not rape Favour or cause her death, insisting that the sexual encounter between them was consensual.

“Favour gave her consent. She was not forced. She wanted it. Odogwu did not rape Favour,” she said.

The woman described what happened between her husband and the deceased as a “transaction gone wrong” and questioned the circumstances surrounding Favour’s death.

“Even if they want to do this case whichever way they want to do it, I will still stand on my ground that Odogwu did not rape Favour. Why Favour unalived herself is something I am still asking myself till today,” she added.

Her latest comments come amid continued public backlash and debate over the allegations involving her husband and the late Favour.
