Ohio father charged after allegedly sh00ting man accused of r@ping his 11-year-old daughter

An Ohio father has been charged after allegedly shooting a 20-year-old man accused of raping his 11-year-old daughter following a confrontation at the family's home.

According to prosecutors, the incident unfolded after the girl's mother discovered a video on her daughter's phone that allegedly showed Diego Montoya Gonzalez sexually assaulting the child inside their Grove City, Ohio, residence.

Investigators said the following day, the girl's father, Malik Chandler, 31, allegedly posed as his daughter on TikTok to lure Montoya Gonzalez back to the house.

When the suspect arrived, Chandler allegedly shot him twice.

Chandler later told investigators that his original intention was to detain Montoya Gonzalez and call the police. However, he claimed he believed the suspect was reaching for a gun, prompting him to open fire.

Police responded to the scene and found Montoya Gonzalez suffering from two gunshot wounds. He was taken to hospital for treatment, while Chandler was arrested and charged with felony assault. His bond has been set at $100,000.

Meanwhile, a grand jury has indicted Montoya Gonzalez on two counts of rape, five counts of pandering sexually oriented material involving a minor, and one count of obstruction of official business.

Prosecutors also alleged that investigators found multiple videos depicting the sexual abuse of children on his phone, including one involving an infant or toddler.

A judge later set Montoya Gonzalez's bond at $20,000 recognizance and $50,000 cash. If released, he is prohibited from contacting the alleged victim or her family and is barred from using the internet except for work-related purposes.
