Tom, who described the establishment as one of the most expensive restaurants in Lagos, compared its prices with those in cities such as Miami, Dubai and Los Angeles.
Sharing his experience, he said he paid $22 for an acai smoothie bowl, which he described as relatively small.
“If I tell you how much I paid for this smoothie bowl, you’re going to be shocked because I made it to the most expensive restaurant in all of Lagos,” he said.
He also pointed out that a bottle of pomegranate juice was listed at ₦25,000, equivalent to about $20.
“You know that means 20 US dollars for a juice,” Tom remarked.
The travel blogger went on to question the type of clientele patronising the restaurant, saying, “I guess this is one of the restaurants where embassy people literally come to spend probably your tax money.”
He also highlighted some of the breakfast options, noting that breakfast was priced at about $30, while avocado toast was also listed at $30.
Tom said he found the prices particularly surprising when compared with similar establishments in major international cities.
“I think that’s more expensive than in Miami, in Dubai, in LA. No, this is Lagos, Nigeria, guys,” he said.
Despite his criticism of the prices, Tom acknowledged that the restaurant offered a luxurious atmosphere, describing it as having a “Dubai vibe” and a “super luxurious vibe.”
However, he questioned whether such high prices were justified, particularly in relation to the earnings of workers in Nigeria.
He also reviewed the acai bowl, admitting that it tasted good but criticising its contents and portion.
“Well, it’s not bad at all. It’s obviously good, but there’s just a little bit of banana and the granola is just the granola from the supermarket package. It’s nothing special, to be honest. It’s not worth 22 dollars, I’m sorry,” he said.
