Israel, in a social media post, described Davido as a defining figure in the election and suggested that the singer’s influence and the people he brought into the campaign contributed to Adeleke’s victory.
Reacting to the comment, Davido rejected the claim and accused Israel of trying to drag him into political controversies.
“I brought no one! No one defended me! I backed my family on my own!! You guys ruthless n disgusting! Eewwww! I have done my job! Nigerian politics is evil and I DON’T WANT TO BE A PART OF IT TILL GOD HELPS US!” Davido wrote.
He also shared a screenshot of Israel’s post and added a stronger warning, writing, “UNA DEY EVIL!! STOP IT!! WE SHOWED YALL GOD IS REAL!! Make una repent!! LEAVE ME OUT OF THE EVILNESS.”
Davido had openly supported his cousin, Adeleke, during the August 15 governorship election, while repeatedly calling for a peaceful and credible electoral process.
His latest reaction suggests that the singer wants to distance himself from further political claims surrounding the election despite his visible support for Adeleke during the campaign.
