Popular Nigerian businesswoman Bebe Jewelry expressed exhaustion and prayed for long life in a video she shared shortly before she reportedly slumped and died at a market in China.
The businesswoman, who operated from Trade Fair in Lagos, had travelled to China for business and documented parts of her trip, including the challenges she faced while sourcing goods.
In her final video, Bebe Jewelry spoke about how physically demanding the trip had become, particularly as she complained of severe pain in her leg and the heat at the market.
“I’m tired, so tired. Money matter no easy o. Ah God, bless the works of my hands o,” she said.
She also offered a prayer for women who were working hard to provide for themselves and their families, saying, “To every woman hustling out there, we will not die young. We will all live to eat the fruit of our labour.”
Bebe Jewelry further reflected on the sacrifices people make before eventually enjoying the results of their hard work, noting that others may become envious when they eventually see them prosper without knowing what they went through.
She continued to pray for God’s blessings upon herself and other hardworking women.
“I know how I feel right now. Pain in my leg is so much. See heat. The market has AC, yet I’m sweating. It’s choking, like my leg hurts so much,” she said.
“God help us o,” she added.
She also made a prayer in Igbo, asking that the eyes of her enemies would not see her.
Bebe Jewelry later reportedly slumped at the Chinese market, with CCTV footage showing the moment she collapsed.
Her death has since left family, friends, customers and other Nigerians in shock, particularly because of the emotional nature of the final video in which she prayed that she and other hardworking women would live long enough to enjoy the fruits of their labour.
