The South African Police Service (SAPS), in a statement shared on its Facebook page on Monday, said the suspect was arrested by members of the Provincial Firearms and Drugs Unit.
According to the police, the suspect was allegedly found in possession of cocaine powder with an estimated street value of R30,000.
He was also reportedly found with R5,000 in cash, which he could not satisfactorily account for.
The police said both the suspected cocaine and cash were seized during the operation.
The suspect is expected to face the Durban Magistrate’s Court over the drug-related allegations as South African authorities continue their efforts to clamp down on the distribution of illicit drugs.
