Argentina set for Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Benin fixtures as Messi prepares farewell

Argentina will play three matches against Bolivia, Burkina Faso and Benin Republic as part of its upcoming fixtures, with Lionel Messi set to feature in a farewell game against Benin Republic.

Messi, who recently announced his retirement from international football after 21 years with the Argentina national team, is scheduled to play his farewell game on October 6 in Buenos Aires.

The Argentine Football Association confirmed that Benin Republic will be the opposition for the occasion, which is expected to mark Messi’s final appearance for the national team on home soil.

However, it remains unclear whether the Inter Miami forward will feature in the matches against Bolivia and Burkina Faso before the farewell fixture.

Messi, 39, has enjoyed a record-breaking international career with Argentina, winning the 2021 Copa América and the 2022 FIFA World Cup, among other honours.
