Social media personality Ola of Lagos has spoken about being judged and underestimated by some people because he did not receive formal education.
During a livestream, Ola was asked whether he had ever felt looked down on because of his background and where he started from.
He said such comments do not particularly bother him, but expressed surprise that some people would describe him as an “olodo uprising.”
“The thing doesn’t really pain me but people use to think it does. Imagine mentioning me as olodo uprising,” he said.
Ola explained that his lack of formal schooling has led some people to assume that he is a “riffraff” or someone without proper upbringing.
According to him, the way he has conducted and presented himself should be enough to challenge such assumptions.
“Because I didn’t go to school they think I am a riffraff. With the way I have packed myself, you are not supposed to call me that but it’s fine,” he added.
