Chelsea set world record with £519m transfer income

Chelsea have set a new world record for a single transfer window after generating £519 million from player sales and loan fees while spending £328 million on 10 first-team signings.

The figures mean the Blues recorded a net spend of minus £120 million during the summer transfer window, highlighting the scale of their player trading business.

Chelsea’s biggest departure was Enzo Fernandez, who joined Manchester City for a British-record £125 million fee. The move also made Chelsea the first club to record a profit from the sale of a player who had previously cost more than £100 million.

Other major permanent departures from Stamford Bridge included Nicolas Jackson, who moved to Aston Villa for £65 million, while Marc Cucurella left for a fee of around £51.8 million.

Liam Delap and Andrey Santos also generated £50 million each for the London club, while Trevoh Chalobah joined Como for approximately £30 million.

Tyrique George completed a permanent move to Everton for £24 million.

The figures underline Chelsea’s aggressive approach to squad building and player trading, with the club not only investing heavily in new signings but also generating significant revenue from outgoing players.
