The Queen made the revelation during an interview where she spoke about her marriage, personal style and how she approaches her role as the wife of the traditional ruler.
“You want make I tell you secret? I be my husband stylist,” she said.
Olori Atuwatse III also spoke about her fashion choices, particularly her decision to often cover her hair with a turban.
She explained that the turban holds a special meaning for her and represents her crown whenever she is in her role as Queen.
“Most pipo dey ask me say why I dey cover my hair. My turban na my crown, na so I dey see am,” she said.
According to her, wearing the head covering is her way of showing respect for the office she occupies, adding that it does not make her feel restricted.
“I like to dey cover my hair to just give respect to di office wey I get. And I no feel say I dey restricted,” she added.
The Queen was also asked if she would accept polygamy should her husband, who had previously said he was not open to the practice, change his mind.
Olori Atuwatse III dismissed the possibility, saying she did not expect the Olu to change his position on polygamy.
“First of all, His Majesty no go fit change im mind about polygamy, make we just settle dat one for dia,” she said.
She added jokingly, “Me alone, one me, I be like three women, so I dey alright for am.”
