According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Boateng has agreed to join Trabzonspor as an assistant coach, marking a new chapter in his football career following his retirement as a professional player.
The former Germany international announced his retirement from professional football on September 19, 2025, at the age of 37.
Boateng enjoyed the most successful period of his playing career at Bayern Munich, where he won nine Bundesliga titles, two UEFA Champions League trophies and five DFB-Pokal titles.
He was also part of the Germany squad that won the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.
During his playing career, Boateng also featured for Hertha BSC, Hamburger SV, Manchester City, Olympique Lyon, US Salernitana and LASK.
