In a video shared online, Momodu said he had received numerous messages from Nigerians asking him to help them join the US military, noting that many people had recently expressed interest in enlisting.
He explained that prospective recruits must meet specific eligibility requirements before they can enlist in the US military.
According to him, applicants must be residents in the United States and have a valid green card before they can qualify to take the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) test.
He also urged Nigerians outside the US to be wary of individuals sending links or claiming they could facilitate military recruitment from abroad.
“There is no link anywhere anyone has to send to you to click on to join the military when you are outside of America. Do not fall for any scam,” he said.
Momodu advised those interested in joining the US Army or other branches of the US military to stay cautious and avoid fraudulent recruitment schemes.
“Stay safe,” he added.
