A Nigerian woman has appealed for help after she mistakenly transferred ₦450,000 to an InDrive rider instead of the ₦4,500 delivery fee she intended to pay.
In a video shared online, the woman said she ordered an InDrive rider on Monday around noon to deliver a package to her customer and mistakenly transferred ₦450,000 instead of ₦4,500.
She said she immediately tried to contact the rider and also reached out to InDrive and her bank for assistance.
According to her, her bank informed her that it had contacted OPay, where the recipient’s account was domiciled, but she was yet to recover the money.
The woman said she had also repeatedly called and messaged the rider, pleading with him to return the funds. She claimed the rider told her that he was not the owner of the account number and that a friend had used the number to register for InDrive.
She became emotional while appealing to members of the public to help her reach the rider and InDrive, stressing that the money was meant for her business and that losing ₦450,000 would have a significant impact on her plans.
She urged social media users to tag InDrive and anyone who could help her recover the money.
