Wike made the statement during an interview on Journalist Hangout, where he questioned how Obi would secure victory in states including Cross River, Akwa Ibom and Delta.
“In Cross River, how will Obi win? In Akwa Ibom, how will he win? In Delta, how will he win?” Wike asked.
The minister dismissed suggestions that Obi still enjoys the level of support he previously had, saying the political situation had changed.
“No, because it’s good for you people to hear this. You people carry propaganda. At that time, I agree with you. No longer now. What people want to know now, Obi does not have it and he won’t have it. And that’s the truth of the matter,” he said.
Wike further urged Obi to leave the 2027 presidential contest to President Bola Tinubu and focus on the 2031 election.
“It does not matter how you abuse me. But the truth of the matter is that for this election, leave it for Tinubu. Prepare for 2031. And that’s the truth of the matter,” he added.
The minister also said he would remain available for interviews and continue to speak on political issues.
“I’m always available. Call me. I’ll always tell you the truth,” Wike said.
