Speaking during a sermon, Osayi said Nigerians should not measure the nation’s purpose solely by its economic performance or compare it with countries such as China based on manufacturing and other achievements.
He maintained that nations have different callings and described Nigeria’s as a responsibility to generate a spiritual revival that would have an impact beyond the country.
“Our calling as a nation is revival. God wants to generate something from here that He will export to the nations of the world. This is His covenant with this nation,” he said.
The cleric also claimed that some of Nigeria’s early Christian leaders sought God through prayer and intercession to understand the nation’s purpose, leading to what he described as a revelation that Nigeria would provide missionary manpower for global evangelism.
“We are a key player, we are a stakeholder in end-time matters,” Osayi said.
He further argued that Nigerians were often too focused on issues such as the naira and political power to recognise what he considers the country’s larger spiritual assignment.
“We are not seeing beyond the Naira, we are not seeing beyond Aso Rock,” he said.
Osayi also told ministers that their present responsibilities could be preparing them for greater assignments, urging them to remain committed despite current challenges.
“He is using the ground to mature you so that He can send you to the place where you will manifest the strength of your sceptre,” he said.
He concluded by urging his audience to remain determined, declaring, “We will not retreat! We will not surrender!”
