Police launch manhunt for four suspects over alleged k!lling of tea seller in Yola

The Adamawa State Police Command has launched a manhunt for four suspects allegedly involved in the killing of a tea seller in Yola.

The victim, identified as Muhammed Auwal Idris, was allegedly attacked at Banga, in the Nassarawo Borehole area of Jimeta, Yola.

The command disclosed this in a statement issued on Tuesday night by its spokesperson, Suleiman Nguroje.

According to the statement, the victim’s elder brother, Aliyu Idris, reported the incident at the Doubeli Divisional Police Headquarters on September 28, 2026.

Aliyu reportedly told the police that his younger brother had been attacked by four persons identified as Isa, Japhet, Omo and Henry.

Following the report, police operatives were mobilised to the scene, where they found the victim lying unconscious.

He was rushed to a hospital for medical attention but was later confirmed dead.

The police said the suspects fled before operatives arrived and are currently at large.

The victim’s remains have been deposited at a mortuary for autopsy as investigations continue.

The command said efforts had been intensified to track down and arrest the suspects.

The Commissioner of Police, Kabir Umar Hassan, condemned the incident and directed the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of Investigation to take over the case.

He also ordered a diligent investigation and prosecution of those found responsible for the alleged crime.
