The company made the announcement in a statement on Wednesday, following what it described as a thorough review of its business operations in Nigeria.
Uber launched its services in Lagos in 2014, providing Nigerians with access to its ride-hailing platform for daily commutes, visits to loved ones and other journeys.
The company thanked Nigerians for trusting its platform and supporting its operations over the years.
“We acknowledge that this change may impact your routine, and we apologise for any inconvenience this may cause,” Uber said.
The ride-hailing firm added that its Help Centre would remain available until September 23, 2026, to assist customers with final account-related enquiries.
The exit brings an end to Uber’s 12-year presence in Nigeria’s competitive ride-hailing market.
