Emeka Rollas breaks silence, apologises for interfering in Regina Daniels’ family dispute

Former Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) president Emeka Rollas has publicly apologised to actress Rita Daniels, her daughter Regina Daniels and Regina’s husband, Senator Ned Nwoko, for inserting himself into their family dispute.

The apology comes nearly a year after Rollas made a controversial statement during the widely publicised marital crisis involving Regina and Nwoko. At the time, he claimed that the actress “needed help” and criticised her mother for allegedly focusing on her campaign for the AGN presidency instead of her daughter’s wellbeing.

In a statement titled “A Personal Apology & Reflection,” Rollas admitted that he regretted the timing, platform and manner in which he handled the matter.

He acknowledged that the statements were made while the family was going through a deeply personal and difficult period, adding that he should not have taken that approach.

Rollas said a recent encounter with Rita Daniels, during which mutual associates attempted to make peace between them, gave him another opportunity to reflect on his actions.

He apologised to Rita Daniels and her family, Ned Nwoko and his family, Regina Daniels, the AGN Board of Trustees and several colleagues whose names he had mentioned in his previous statement.

The former AGN president stressed that he was offering the apology without excuses or conditions, regardless of whether the affected parties choose to accept it.

According to him, leadership requires not only the courage to speak but also the humility to acknowledge when one could have handled a situation differently.

Rollas maintained that he may still hold his convictions about some of the issues he raised at the time but said he was taking responsibility for his actions and timing.

He concluded by saying he had reflected on the matter and was choosing “peace, reconciliation, dignity and respect” as he moves forward.
