‘I feel escorts are d@ft and stup!d’ — Biodun Stephen tackles convoy sirens in traffic (video)

Nollywood filmmaker Biodun Stephen has criticised security escorts who use sirens to force other road users to make way for their principals while stuck in traffic.

The filmmaker questioned the purpose of blaring sirens when all road users are caught in the same traffic and there is little or no space for motorists to move.

Stephen said she struggles to understand the actions of escorts who expect other drivers to clear the road for their principals despite the congestion.

“I will never understand escorts. I feel as though those who are escorts are daft. They are stupid,” she said.

The filmmaker wondered where other motorists were expected to move to when there was heavy traffic on the road.

“Can you hear their sirens? We're all in traffic o. Whether they want me to move to the bush or to jump into water because your oga wants to pass, I don't know,” she added.

Stephen’s comments came while reacting to the conduct of convoy escorts who repeatedly blare their sirens while trying to create a path for the vehicles they are accompanying.

She questioned whether motorists were realistically expected to leave the road when there was no available space to do so.
