Kevin Hart asks court to exclude proposed witnesses from legal fight with ex-assistant

American comedian Kevin Hart has asked a judge to exclude proposed witnesses from his ongoing legal dispute with former assistant Miesha Shakes, arguing that their testimony is not relevant to the case.

According to court documents obtained by TMZ, Hart’s request followed Shakes’ submission of a witness list that included Montia Sabbag, the woman involved in his 2017 adult film controversy.

Hart is suing Shakes over an interview she granted to blogger Tasha K, during which she discussed his personal life. The comedian alleges that the interview breached a non-disclosure agreement she signed after leaving his company.

Shakes, who worked for Hart from 2017 to 2020, has challenged the agreement, arguing that it is unenforceable because Hart allegedly failed to fulfil other obligations under their arrangement.

In his latest court filing, Hart accused Shakes of submitting the witness list without first consulting his legal team. He also alleged that including Sabbag was an attempt to embarrass him and attract publicity rather than present evidence relevant to the dispute.

Hart has asked the court to exclude Sabbag and other proposed witnesses unless Shakes can demonstrate that their testimony relates directly to the issues being considered.

The comedian maintains that he, Shakes and Tasha K are the only witnesses needed to address the dispute.

Hart alleges that the interview damaged his reputation and is seeking unspecified damages. The court’s decision on his request was not stated in the report.
