Toluwanisings’ d+ath forces three gospel music organisers to cancel, postpone events

Three gospel music organisers have cancelled or postponed their events following the d+ath of Nigerian gospel singer Olayemi Bolaji, popularly known as Toluwanisings.

The singer d+ied on Wednesday, October 14, 2026, prompting tributes from fellow gospel artistes and members of the Christian music community.

Among the organisers that announced changes to their programmes are Kaywonder, Pure Gospel Music Generals (PUGMUG) and AY Grace Music Ministry, which said the decisions were taken in honour of the late singer.

Kaywonder, known for the song “Oke Nla”, announced on Thursday the postponement of the seventh edition of its Invasion Praise Concert, which was scheduled for Sunday, October 18, at 2pm.

In a statement, the organiser said the loss had deeply affected the gospel music community, prompting the decision to defer the event.

“Following the heartbreaking loss of one of the Gospel minister, Toluwanisings, we have been deeply affected by this painful moment. In honour of his memory and in recognition of the grief currently felt across the Gospel community, we have prayerfully decided to postpone the concert,” the statement read.

The organiser added that although preparations had been completed, it considered the period more suitable for reflection, mourning and prayer. It also said a new date would be announced soon.

Similarly, PUGMUG announced the cancellation of its 10th anniversary celebration, which was scheduled for Friday, October 16.

The organisation described Toluwanisings as a beloved brother and committed member, explaining that the decision was made to allow members to mourn his passing.

It also apologised to guests, ministers and sponsors affected by the cancellation while expressing gratitude for the organisation’s 10 years of activity.

AY Grace Music Ministry also postponed this month’s edition of its All Sufficient Monthly Praise programme, which was scheduled for Thursday.

In a statement shared on Instagram, the ministry described Toluwanisings as a beloved brother in the gospel music industry and said the decision followed his d+ath.

“Following the sad and tragic loss of our beloved brother in the gospel music industry, Min. Toluwani Sings, we regret to announce the postponement of this month’s edition of The All Sufficient Monthly Praise,” the statement read.

The ministry said a new date would be communicated in due course and apologised for any inconvenience caused. It also extended condolences to the singer’s family, friends and loved ones, praying for their strength and comfort during the difficult period.

Toluwanisings was known for his energetic gospel performances and Yoruba-influenced praise songs, including “A Very Big God” and “Kabiyesi Olorun Ayo”. His d+ath has continued to draw tributes from fellow gospel artistes and members of the Christian music community.
