Diamond Platnumz and wife Zuchu announce split after one year of marriage

Tanzanian music star Diamond Platnumz and his wife, singer Zuchu, have gone their separate ways, with the songstress confirming that divorce proceedings are now underway.

Zuchu announced the end of their relationship in an emotional post shared on her Instagram Story on Sunday. 

Although she did not reveal the reason behind the split, she said she had decided to prioritise her well-being after six years together.

“We tried, but Allah has His own plans,” she wrote.

The singer added, “I have finally decided to choose myself and this is a time to heal and focus more on my health and career.

“My husband and I are now separated and going through a divorce. I announce this with a heavy heart. After 6 years of being together, I’ve finally decided to choose myself.”

Diamond Platnumz and Zuchu officially got married in June 2025 after dating for five years. Their relationship had attracted widespread attention from fans across East Africa.

Reacting to the announcement, Diamond Platnumz's former partner, socialite Zari Hasan, reportedly praised Zuchu for enduring the relationship, referencing the reasons she previously gave for ending her own romance with the singer.
