A Nigerian man has left social media users laughing after recounting how a simple phone call to his mother following a minor car accident turned into a family-wide panic because of a misunderstanding involving soldiers.
According to him, some soldiers who happened to be passing by stopped to help and assisted in towing the damaged vehicle to a mechanic's workshop.
He said he immediately called his mother to inform her about the accident and assured her that he was safe and uninjured.
After the call, he dropped his phone and went to take a bath, believing everything had been properly explained.
However, when he returned, he was shocked to discover 18 missed calls from his father, siblings and several other relatives.
Recounting the incident, he wrote:
"Was involved in an accident with my car while teaching my friend how to drive. After the incident, I called my mom and told her I was involved in an accident, and that some soldiers who were passing by helped me out. They even towed my car to the mechanic's workshop. I clearly told her I'm fine.
Then I dropped my phone and went to take my bath. I came back to meet 18 missed calls. I was surprised. 'What's going on here?' I asked.
Guess what? The calls were from my Dad, my siblings, and other family members."
The humorous story quickly gained attention online, with many Nigerians sharing similar experiences of how information passed through family members can sometimes become exaggerated or completely misunderstood.
