Businesswoman Sophia Momodu has initiated legal action against actress and reality TV star Caroline Hutchings, popularly known as Caroline Danjuma, over an alleged defamatory post shared on social media.
According to the legal notice, a Snapchat post made by Caroline was widely interpreted by members of the public as referring to Sophia, allegedly causing serious damage to her reputation, emotional distress and sustained cyberbullying.
The dispute arose from a Snapchat post in which Caroline claimed that a woman she had once defended on national television had allegedly been involved with her former partner while they were still in a relationship.
In the post, Caroline wrote:
"Funny how I pretend I am stupid but I know the girl I defended on national TV was sleeping with my man while I was with him..."
She went on to accuse the unnamed woman of betraying friendships and used several insulting remarks, including calling her "dirt," "a dirty clown," and "a dirty piece of condemned sh!t."
Sophia's legal team maintains that although Caroline did not mention her name, the post was widely understood to be directed at her, leading to public backlash and reputational harm. The notice demands that Caroline retract the publication and issue a public apology or face further legal action.
