Sowore reacted on Thursday via his X account after the Abia State Government announced that presidential candidates seeking to advertise with billboards and other outdoor campaign materials in the state would be required to pay a ₦200 million permit fee ahead of the 2027 general election.
Condemning the policy, the activist accused Otti of betraying the expectations of many Nigerians who had placed their hopes in his administration.
"Alex C. Otti has become one of Nigeria's biggest political disappointments. @alexottiofr is a massive scam, and the full extent of that scam is still unraveling," Sowore wrote.
The Abia State Government had defended the new fee structure, saying it is aimed at regulating outdoor political campaigns, maintaining order, and ensuring equal access to advertising spaces for all political parties that comply with the state's guidelines.
The announcement has, however, continued to generate criticism, with opposition figures and stakeholders questioning the legality and affordability of the charges ahead of the 2027 elections.
