“Either I get my children or go to jail”– Judy Austin’s ex-husband Emmanuel reacts to N1bn defamation suit

Actress Judy Austin’s ex-husband, Emmanuel, has reacted to the N1 billion defamation lawsuit filed against him, insisting that the legal action will not stop him from speaking about his children and what he claims to have experienced.

In a video, Emmanuel questioned the amount involved in the lawsuit, saying he found it amusing.

“You sue me one billion. You feel count am? I laugh, I’m just laughing since yesterday. Some people don’t know the reason why I’m laughing,” he said.

Emmanuel also referred to an alleged admission in Judy’s lawsuit that the last time he contacted her was in 2018, questioning what happened between them afterward.

“Thank God in that your lawsuit, you said that the last time I called is 2018 in that lawsuit. So you accepted. You said by yourself. You wrote and I quote that the last time I called you is 2018. Very good and fine. You accept that it’s 2018. Let it be so. What happened since 2018? Did you block me or you did not block me? Why are you hiding my children from me? Why are you manipulating those children?”

He maintained that the lawsuit would not intimidate him or prevent him from demanding access to his children.

“Do you think that the lawsuit can scare me away from asking for my children? The answer is no. You don’t know me very well,” he said.

Emmanuel further declared that he was prepared to face whatever consequences might result from his actions.

“Either I have my children or I go to jail,” he stated.

Questioning the basis of the alleged defamation claim, Emmanuel said he believed defamation should involve someone making false claims about another person.

“I thought defamation supposed to be when somebody lie against you, then you can now sue the person that this person is defaming you,” he said.

He also recalled an alleged encounter with Judy, claiming that she once travelled from Enugu to Nnewi in an attempt to resolve their differences.

“Did you travel to Enugu to come to Nnewi to see me? The answer is yes. Did we lodge in Hotel de Hersen, New Market Road, Nnewi? Second floor, did we lodge there? The answer is yes,” he alleged.

Emmanuel concluded by insisting that he would continue speaking about his experience and his children regardless of the legal action.

“It’s not this time o. I will be speaking till I put on that cloth and go to jail. I will be speaking,” he concluded.
