Popular Nigerian content creator Jarvis has urged her husband and fellow streamer, Peller, to develop the habit of giving her money without waiting for her to ask, saying marriage comes with a different level of responsibility.
Jarvis made the remark while explaining that despite everything she is currently going through, she remains active at home, cooks and handles several other responsibilities.
According to her, being financially independent before marriage does not mean Peller should continue treating her as though she is still single.
She said Peller still operates with the mindset that she is a hardworking woman who has her own money, stressing that he needs to understand that she is now his wife and should be cared for.
“I’m now your wife. Peller needs to learn how to give me money without me asking. He’s still operating with the mentality that Jarvis has her own money,” she said.
Jarvis emphasised that her comments were not solely about money, explaining that she remains independent and continues to work, but believes receiving financial support from her husband is also important.
“I’m still the independent lady. That was when I was single. I’m still working. I am still a career lady. But now I’m your wife. Now you should know how to give to your wife without asking,” she said.
She added that she was trying to teach Peller that he should not always wait for her to request money before offering it.
“So that is what I’m trying to let him— I’m trying to teach him: I must not ask you before you give,” she added.
Jarvis further explained that she keeps raising the issue because she wants Peller to change his mindset and understand that marriage comes with additional responsibilities towards his wife.
Her comments have sparked mixed reactions online, with some agreeing that husbands should voluntarily support their wives financially, while others questioned why such personal matters were being discussed publicly.
