In a viral video, the man said his advice was coming from a place of pain after he was reportedly given just three days to vacate his current apartment over unpaid rent.
“My only advice to young boys should be to see how they come up. Live below your means. Nobody live above your means. Live below your means. This advice is coming from a place of pain, agony,” he said.
According to him, he had been unable to make rent payments since February and was now struggling to even afford the cost of a room.
He explained that in an attempt to maintain a certain lifestyle and meet society’s expectations, he previously opted for a two-bedroom apartment when he could have settled for a cheaper option.
“I don’t want anybody to call me pizza for me, call me Zia. I don’t want anybody to pity me. My reckless and my, you know, I won’t live above. I won’t meet up with the people, stand up with the society,” he said.
Reflecting on his past decisions, the man admitted that he had made mistakes, including quitting his former source of income because he did not see a future in it.
He said he later ventured into content creation but struggled to make enough money despite putting significant effort into it.
“I can’t equate this content. If after they gave you the engagement, I didn’t see anybody, they shocked me. I can’t put more energy on everything,” he said.
He urged young people not to judge their progress by the lifestyles displayed by others online, stressing that appearances can be misleading.
“So I talked to you like this. My advice, take my advice now. Make I no go end up like me. The reality are they share from my page. We see they really, they go home. You understand? So make you no go for a victim. Make you dey wise,” he said.
The emotional plea ended with the man asking viewers to pray for him as he battles his current financial difficulties.
“Pray for me. No help me. I don’t want anyone. I don’t want anything. But if I think of commerce, I say it won’t help me. I’ll thank God,” he concluded.
