Actress Rita Edochie has confirmed that she will appear in court on August 29 for the hearing of the N1 billion defamation lawsuit filed against her by her co-wife, actress Judy Austin.
Judy had earlier instituted the suit against Rita at an Abuja High Court, accusing her of defamation and seeking N1 billion in damages.
Reacting to the lawsuit, Rita declared that she was ready to face the matter in court, insisting that she had not been intimidated by the legal action.
In a post shared on social media, the actress wrote, “Please let’s see in court on the 29th oooo. I dey game because I am still the fear that fear fears!!!”
Rita also responded to critics who have condemned her repeated comments about Judy and her marriage to actor Yul Edochie.
She maintained that while Judy was not the first woman to take another person’s husband, she would be the first to face the consequences of her actions and contend with what she described as karma.
“Evil has an expiry date and the time is now that you exposed yourself. I will not rest until I get to the root of it,” Rita wrote.
She further claimed that she had not been moved by what she described as the “trolls” directed at her, adding that she remained confident ahead of the court proceedings.
The ongoing dispute between the actresses has continued to attract reactions online, with the latest development shifting attention to the scheduled court hearing.
