After recovering from their opening defeat with a win over Zambia, Justine Madugu's side needed another positive result to secure qualification from Group C. They delivered in style, with six goals in an entertaining encounter.
The Super Falcons took the lead in the 21st minute after a VAR review awarded Nigeria a penalty for handball. Veteran striker Asisat Oshoala calmly converted from the spot to score her second goal of the tournament.
Nigeria doubled their advantage just before half-time when Gift Monday, who had replaced the injured Oshoala in the 40th minute, finished brilliantly in stoppage time after being played through on goal.
Egypt pulled one back moments later as Nadine Ghazi converted a penalty awarded after Michelle Alozie was penalised for a foul, sending Nigeria into the break with a 2-1 lead.
The Super Falcons took control again in the second half. Rinsola Babajide continued her impressive display by setting up substitute Uchenna Kanu, who scored with her first touch in the 57th minute to make it 3-1.
Another VAR review earned Nigeria a second penalty after Kanu was fouled inside the box, and Christy Ucheibe converted confidently in the 80th minute to extend the lead to 4-1.
Ghazi grabbed her second goal of the match four minutes later to reduce the deficit, but Nigeria finished the game in emphatic fashion.
Captain Rasheedat Ajibade converted Nigeria's third penalty of the night in stoppage time following another VAR decision, before Joy Omewa added a sixth goal deep into added time to seal an impressive 6-2 victory.
The result saw Nigeria finish second in Group C, behind Zambia, who defeated Malawi 2-1 to top the group.
The defending champions will now turn their attention to the knockout stage as they continue their quest for a record-extending 11th Women's Africa Cup of Nations title.
