'You're not Fela’s son, we should do DNA test' — VeryDarkMan tears into Seun Kuti in explosive rant

Social media activist Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), has fired back at Afrobeat singer Seun Kuti after the musician reportedly described him as a "wannabe Fela."

In a lengthy video shared online, VDM accused Seun Kuti of doing more talking than taking action, insisting that he had contributed little to Nigeria compared to his late father, Fela Kuti.

He claimed that while Fela became a legend by speaking against injustice and military rule, Seun had failed to live up to that legacy.

VDM also alleged that he had personally visited communities affected by insecurity to raise awareness, challenging Seun to do the same instead of criticizing others from a distance.

In one of his most controversial remarks, VDM questioned Seun Kuti's connection to the Kuti family, saying, "If they do DNA test now, people will say maybe he's not Fela's son."

He further claimed that artists like Wizkid had brought more respect to Fela's legacy than Seun, adding that aside from an old pendant Burna Boy gifted him, there was little linking Seun to the iconic Kuti dynasty.

The activist also accused popular activist Omoyele Sowore of spreading propaganda and using artificial intelligence to push false narratives, alleging that activism had become a means of attracting international funding rather than solving Nigeria's problems.

The exchange comes after Seun Kuti criticized VeryDarkMan, describing him as someone trying to imitate the fearless activism associated with Fela Kuti. The feud has since sparked widespread reactions across social media, with supporters of both men weighing in on the heated war of words.
