The complaint, filed on September 17 by investigative journalist David Wheeler with the US House Committee on Ethics, names former district director Clarice Navarro, district chief of staff Raven Finegan and former chief of staff Jeffrey Small as the staffers allegedly involved.
It also alleges that Boebert paid Navarro $200,000 after she allegedly threatened to file an ethics complaint in March 2025. The complaint claims the payment was intended to prevent Navarro from pursuing the matter.
Boebert has strongly rejected the allegations, saying she has never had an inappropriate or sexual relationship with any of her staff members.
“I’m not a lesbian or bisexual, and I have never, ever been in any inappropriate relationship, nor have I ever been sexually involved with any staff,” she said.
Her spokesperson also described the allegations as false and politically motivated.
Navarro, one of the staffers named in the complaint, has likewise denied the claims, describing the allegations as false, defamatory and without any truth.
The House Ethics Committee had not announced a formal review of the complaint at the time of reporting, and the allegations have not been established as fact.
