Nollywood actress Rita Edochie has tackled critics who claimed she was suffering from arthritis after a video of her dancing surfaced online, questioning whether their mothers could match her level of strength, energy and physical activity.
Edochie dismissed the claim, insisting that she remains active and energetic despite her busy schedule. She also questioned how her movements in the viral video could be interpreted as signs of arthritis.
In a post on her Instagram page, the actress challenged those making the claim to compare her physical activity with that of their mothers.
She wrote, “Can their mothers ever be as strong, active, energetic, and flexible as I am? Impossible!”
Edochie explained that she had been travelling extensively, moving from one location to another and spending hours standing while promoting her movie.
She also accused her critics of being motivated by jealousy, suggesting that they were searching for something negative to say because she has been receiving attention and trending on social media.
“Your empty head could only find arthritis to talk about,” she added.
The actress also condemned the growing culture of social media bullying, warning that persistent attacks can have serious effects on people's mental health and may push some victims into depression.
Despite the criticism, Edochie maintained that she would not allow her detractors to stop her from using social media or sharing updates about her activities with her followers.
