The development has sparked discussions online, with some questioning Akindele’s relationship with younger colleagues who have often shown support for her projects and events.
This is not the first time the actress has faced such speculation. A similar situation arose when she reportedly missed the wedding of actor Tobi, who has been closely associated with her and often described as her right-hand man, leading to rumours that the two were no longer on good terms.
However, Kamo has now moved to dispel similar speculation regarding his relationship with Akindele.
In a post addressing the issue, he explained that Akindele was absent from his premiere simply because she was out of the country, stressing that there was no issue between them.
“We are on good terms. I woke up to see different opinions online about Iyamii and myself. Please, we're on good terms. She missed my premiere simply because she wasn't in the country and nothing more to it,” he said.
Kamo added that they had spoken about the matter and that Akindele would still support the film.
“We've spoken about it, and she's going to support this film. I'd appreciate it if our personal relationship isn't speculated on. Let's keep our focus on the film, STARLOMO is coming this Friday. See y'all at the box office!” he added.
