President of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW), Musiliu Ayinde Akinsanya, popularly known as MC Oluomo, has mourned the death of transport leader and Lagos socialite, Chief Taoreed Faronbi, popularly known as Baba Alado.
Faronbi died in the early hours of Saturday, September 26, 2026.
He was the Olori Ebi of the Alagbeji Royal Family in Papa Ajao, Mushin, and held several titles, including Akinrogun of Isolo Kingdom and Babaloja of Aswani International Market.
In a condolence message shared on Instagram, MC Oluomo described Baba Alado’s death as a painful loss to the transport family and Lagos community.
“INNA LILLAHI WA INNA ILAYHI RAJI’UN. It is with a heavy heart that I mourn the passing of Alhaji Taoreed Faronbi, popularly known as Baba Alado,” he wrote.
He extended his condolences to Faronbi’s family, friends, associates and members of the NURTW nationwide, while acknowledging his contributions to the transport sector and the community.
“Baba Alado was a man who made his mark, and his name will be remembered by many. His contributions, relationships, and presence within the transport and community space will not be forgotten,” he added.
MC Oluomo prayed for Allah to forgive Faronbi’s shortcomings, accept his good deeds and grant him Al-Jannatul Firdaus, while asking God to give his family the strength to bear the loss.
Faronbi, who was also a grassroots political figure in Lagos, was buried on Saturday according to Islamic rites.
Beyond the transport sector, he was involved in real estate and was a familiar figure in Lagos’ social scene, with Fuji and Juju stars including K1 De Ultimate, Saheed Osupa and Alabi Pasuma among those who celebrated him during his lifetime.
