Abudu shared the reflection in a video marking her birthday, where she encouraged people not to allow their age to stop them from pursuing their dreams.
She revealed that her journey into media began at 40 when she launched Moments with Mo, before venturing into filmmaking and producing her first movie, Fifty, at the age of 50.
According to her, her career continued to grow with projects including The Wedding Party, The Royal Hibiscus Hotel, Chief Daddy, Oloture, Aleshi, The Governor, Castle & Castle, Blood Sisters, Baby Farm and several others.
Abudu also recalled launching EbonyLife Place in Lagos at 55, noting that she is now taking the destination to London at 62.
Reflecting on the different stages of her career, she said, “At 40, I was starting something completely new. At 50, I was making my first film. At 55, I was building a new destination in Lagos. And at 62, I’m still building, still creating, still dreaming, and still starting new things.”
She urged people not to see their age as a barrier to achieving their ambitions.
“Your age is not your limitation. So wherever you are in your life, please do not tell yourself that it is too late. It is not too late,” she said.
Abudu further encouraged those with unfulfilled dreams to take steps towards achieving them, stressing that some of the best chapters of life may still be ahead.
“If there is something you want to do, go for it. If there is something you want to build, start. If there’s a dream you’ve been carrying for years, give yourself permission to pursue it because sometimes the best chapters of your life are the ones you haven’t written yet,” she added.
She also announced that her latest project, The Secret Lives of Baba Segi’s Wives, will hit cinemas on December 4, 2026.
The filmmaker described the movie as a story about four women, their choices, lives, secrets, resilience and the lives they have built.
Concluding her message, Abudu said, “Never ever let your dreams stop you from becoming everything that you are meant to be. And as I often say, if you can think it, you can do it.”
She also expressed gratitude to God as she marked her 62nd birthday.
